How do I connect my subscription?
In version 19.0.3, open My Account, enter the email you used at checkout, then paste the sign-in code. Your access connects automatically. If you have just bought a plan, choose Refresh access. Your saved books remain available offline. Get the latest app.
What are the Book Bible and continuity checks?
Version 19.0.2 saves source-cited facts, characters, dates, locations, relationships and endings before writing. Independent reviews flag potential contradictions, repetition and unresolved story elements. They are available in Mac and Windows 19.0.2. Review your source and finished book yourself before publishing.
What computer do I need?
Mac requires macOS 14 or later and Apple Silicon or a compatible Intel Mac. Windows requires Windows 10 build 19041 or later, or Windows 11, and a 64-bit system. We recommend 16 GB RAM for Mac; for Windows, 8 GB for everyday use and 16 GB for larger projects. Check full system, storage and microphone requirements.
What does Free include?
Free includes one verified file or live recording, about 20 minutes of local transcription, reading the transcript and exploring/exporting a prewritten sample book. Creating your own book needs credits, an original paid allowance or an eligible earned benefit. Unlimited transcription and transcript export are subscription features.
What happens when my subscription ends?
Cancellation stops future recurring billing and subscription allocations. Your remaining Scribe Credits never expire and can still fund books, requested revisions and covers. Existing journal entries remain readable and downloadable; creating or editing journal entries requires active paid access. Locally saved books and exports remain available.
Is the phone companion free?
Yes. The phone companion is free to download and has no checkout or separate phone subscription. Choose and pay for your plan in The Scribe desktop app, then sign in on your phone with the same email and choose Refresh account access. An active paid plan is required to create journal entries; your saved entries remain available to read and export after your plan ends.
How does My Journal work?
Paid members can record or write an entry, keep its date, review the transcript, and choose entries for a book. Set a reminder on your Mac or add a daily calendar reminder on your phone. Recording starts only when you choose to record.
Is there an iPhone or Android app?
There is an installable web companion for iPhone and Android. Open it in Safari or Chrome and add it to your home screen. Enable sync on both devices, then open My Journal on your Mac to transcribe phone recordings. There are no App Store or Play Store downloads yet. You can also journal entirely on the Mac.
Does my journal automatically become a book?
You choose which entries to include. Prepare your source, check its minimum word requirements and review the maximum credit quote before creating the book.
Who is The Scribe for?
Anyone whose spoken or existing material deserves a longer life: authors, podcasters, educators, coaches, consultants, founders, researchers, speakers, ministry leaders, memoirists, and storytellers.
Which plan is the best value?
Publisher is $29/month for 250 credits. Publisher Series is $79/month for 750. Choose the allocation that fits your expected writing, revision and cover use. Unused credits never expire.
Can I buy extra credits without a subscription?
The new one-time packs are 100 credits/$19, 250/$39, 500/$75 or 1,000/$145, with no subscription required. Check your verified account for purchase availability. Credit accounts can spend their remaining balance without an active subscription.
Can I choose the number of pages?
Choose 13–500 standard manuscript pages on credit accounts. Each page targets 240 finished words: 200 pages means 48,000 words; 500 means 120,000. After transcription, use the in-app planner to see the minimum source words and prepare your book copy. Original book packages retain their existing limit. Final PDF pages depend on layout.
Does transcription leave my computer?
Core audio transcription—including Add by Voice inside the editor—runs locally. Paid book and cover features may securely send the material needed for that requested job to the configured generation service. Audio is not uploaded for book writing. If you enable journal account sync, journal text and audio are uploaded to your Scribe account so your devices can exchange them. You review the book before publishing.
How is the premium cover created?
One complete generated cover direction costs 50 credits. Enter and proof your front, spine and back-cover information before generation. Review every word before publishing. Another generated direction costs another 50 credits; resizing and exporting saved artwork is included. The paperback wrap uses the final measured PDF page count; an ebook front is exported separately.
What happens after I upload a manuscript?
In version 19.0.0, your saved source opens a dashboard with its word count, readiness and a next action. Continue to Make Book, or add more material if the chosen length needs it. Your original stays saved. Follow the upload steps →
Do I need a cover before downloading?
No. Download your manuscript as EPUB, PDF or Word from the Download step. Make Cover has its own workspace. Add and proof a cover when you choose; final print-cover preparation uses the measured interior PDF.
Where are my finished books?
Press My Books in the app toolbar. The library uses each generated cover when it is available and keeps every saved title conspicuous so you can reopen, edit, export, or prepare a new edition later.
Who owns the finished manuscript?
You retain ownership of the material you provide and the output available to you under the Terms. You are responsible for having the rights to every recording, document, image, quotation, and source you use.
Does it publish to Amazon automatically?
The Scribe prepares files, metadata, checks, and a guided KDP package. You sign in to your own Amazon KDP account, review rights, territories, price, and preview, then make the final publishing decision.
Do all editorial choices cost the same?
All four choices use the premium writing service and one credit per 240 completed words, rounded upward to 0.1 credit. Your selected level changes the permitted editorial development and minimum source needed. It does not change the writing rate.
What if generation is interrupted?
Reopen the same saved project with its source, target, editorial choice and instructions unchanged. Choose Resume writing to continue a recoverable job using its completed sections. Review any recovery quote before unfinished writing continues. A confirmed failed job releases its reservation; a recovered delivery settles once. If the provider result is uncertain, contact Support before another paid request. Follow the recovery steps.
How do referral credits work?
An eligible new customer’s qualifying subscription earns 50 credits for their inviter and 25 welcome credits after at least 30 days and fresh payment checks. Existing original earned benefits are preserved. See eligibility and full terms.
When can I buy Scribe Credits?
Scribe Credits are available through your verified account for Mac and Windows 19.0.0. Review your balance and quote before generation.
