See the finished result

1. Open The Scribe and choose Explore a sample book.
2. Compare the four editorial styles using the same source.
3. Read the complete short sample and save its PDF or EPUB.
4. Return Home. Choose Help me start to plan your own book locally.

Prepare to record

1. Choose a book direction, topic, audience, and reader outcome.
2. Use the five prompts in Live Capture to guide what you say.
3. Allow microphone access when asked.
4. Keep the Mac online and powered while first-time transcription setup completes.

Record your voice

1. Press Record.
2. Speak naturally and watch the waveform.
3. Keep the microphone close without letting the signal clip.
4. Press Stop when the whole session is complete.
5. Allow transcription to finish before starting another source.

Import one audio or video file

1. Press Import and choose one source.
2. For YouTube or another link, use only material you own or may legally process.
3. Confirm the source and let local transcription finish.
4. Review the saved result before beginning the next source.

What to verify

• Names, places, dates, figures, and specialist terms
• Exact quotations and scripture or source references
• Speaker changes in interviews or conversations
• Any word whose meaning changes the point

What to preserve

Keep real stories, distinctive expressions, hard-earned lessons, and the speaker’s recognizable way of seeing the subject.

Pick the right level

• Keep it close: grammar, errors, repetition, and clarity.
• Add a little: smoother flow and helpful clarification.
• Build it out: stronger development, examples, frameworks, and application.
• Make it big: the broadest source-led manuscript and deepest editorial development.

Choose a useful page target

1. Leave Let source decide selected for the most natural length, or request 15–200 pages.
2. Check that the selected editorial distance can honestly reach that target from your source.
3. Review the estimate and allowance, then press Create My Book once.
4. The saved job continues on the server; reopen the app to check progress.

Shape the manuscript

• Review title suggestions or type your own title.
• Rename, reorder, add, or remove chapters.
• Edit chapter text directly, or press Add by Voice to dictate more prose and append the local transcript.
• Add acknowledgements, dedication, introduction, or other front matter.
• Upload or paste additional source material.

Approve deliberately

Read the opening, transitions, quotations, and conclusion aloud. Remove repetition, unsupported claims, generic phrasing, and anything that does not sound like the author.

Create, remake, or upload

1. Confirm the exact title, subtitle, and author name.
2. Describe the audience, mood, central symbol, colors, and anything to avoid.
3. Press Create My Cover for the included direction, or upload a finished cover you own at no charge.
4. If you want a different generated direction, purchase one project-bound remake for $9, return to the app, and press Check Purchase.

Proof before approval

• Check every generated word against the exact book details.
• Confirm the title reads clearly at thumbnail size and in grayscale.
• Check contrast, genre fit, hierarchy, and author placement.
• Do not continue until the text-proof checkbox is complete.
• Verify trim size, final page count, bleed, barcode area, and spine before print upload.

Choose the format

• EPUB: reflowable ebook for Kindle and other readers.
• PDF: fixed print interior for physical books.
• Word: editor handoff, collaboration, and further layout work.
• KDP checklist: metadata, cover, files, rights, preview, and launch tasks.

Final inspection

1. Open the exported file outside The Scribe.
2. Check the contents page, chapter starts, italics, page breaks, and final page.
3. Back up the manuscript, cover, and exports.
4. Sign in to your own KDP or distributor account.
5. Review rights, territories, price, preview, and disclosures before publishing.
